SkyBlock island levels
How island level is calculated and why it's worth chasing.
Applies to SkyBlock.
SkyBlock starts everyone on the same island and the same tree. Island level is the number that tracks how far you’ve taken it from there.
What counts toward your level
Every block placed on your island contributes points, but not equally. Placing dirt is worth almost nothing; placing a crafted or generated block that took real effort — smelted blocks, crop farms at scale, spawner-adjacent builds — is worth substantially more. The scoring exists to reward progression, not to reward spamming cheap blocks across empty space.
Your island’s level is the sum of every member’s contribution, so a co-op island climbs faster with more active builders, not just a bigger island footprint.
Why it matters
Island level gates a few things directly:
- Certain shop upgrades and cosmetic unlocks require a minimum level.
- The public island leaderboard ranks by level, and top islands get featured periodically.
- Some later-game recipes assume a level threshold as a soft difficulty gate, so a low-level island will find them harder to reach materials for.
Checking your level
Run /island level from anywhere on your island to see your current score and
an estimate of what your next few blocks placed would add. The number updates
in real time as you build — there’s no separate recalculation step.
